Q. Why do I have to create a login?
A. So we can protect your privacy and everyone else's. Without a login, anyone could search the registrations of lots of other people. By requiring a login, we can restrict the number of searches per user and ban users who abuse the system.
Q. Will Democrats.com sell my personal information?
Democrats.com does not sell your personal information (read our privacy policy). If you want to hide personal information after you search your voter registration, you can remove data from sensitive fields or substitute bogus data. (Naturally you won't be able to search your voter registration or your Congressional District afterwards). If you do not want to be on our mailing list, click the unsubscribe link in our login confirmation email. If you want to try our email list for a while, you can always click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. If you want to delete your login altogether, contact us.
Q. Can I use my old Democrats.com login?
If you created a login for the new Democrats.com blog community after Election Day 2004, your login is still valid. (If you forgot your login, we will send it to you.) If you created your login for the old Democrats.community site between 2001-2004, that login is no longer valid and you need to create a new login.
Q. I get your Activist Alerts so why don't I have a login?
You probably joined our Activist Alert list by signing one of our petitions, but it's an extra step to create a Democrats.com login with a password.
Q. When I try to create a new login, it says my email address is already taken.
Then you created a Democrats.com login sometime in the past. If you can't remember your password, click this link to have it emailed:
http://mydem.democrats.com/en/user/password
Q. What if my spouse and I share the same email address?
You cannot create multiple logins with the same email address. If you want to "google" your voter registration, complete a search for yourself, then change your first name to your spouse's (and last name and address if necessary) and then do another search.
Q. Why is your login rejecting my web site link?
Make sure your link does not end with a / (slash) and try again.
Q. I successfully created a login but I can't get in.
First make sure your modem is connected and your browser accepts cookies. If you still can't get in, contact us. Please describe what you did, and make sure to provide your Operating System and browser.
